New applicants joining IWM’s Design team will be part of a fast-paced working environment, with opportunity for personal & professional development.

You will be fully office-based, working closely with experienced machine designers in a small team, to produce designs & drawings to suit client requirements & for our on-site production facility to manufacture.

Requirements:
Proficient in use of Autodesk Inventor
Have experience in a design setting

Desirable but not essential:
Working Knowledge of sheet metal
Working Knowledge of food/hygiene industry
Working Knowledge of industrial machinery/machine design
Working Knowledge of Autocad 2D Working Knowledge of Vault
HNC in mechanical engineering or above

Responsibilities:
Collaborating with experienced designers, to produce General Arrangement Drawings & Production Drawings based on Design Engineer’s models. Collaborating with sales & production team [when experienced] to create new machine designs, Modifications of existing models
Liaising with production staff to ensure smooth build process

Operating as a family run company for over 40 years, IWM design and manufacture washing and sanitising solutions for multiple industries globally, including food, pharmaceutical, healthcare and logistics.
We are proud to have sold products in over 50 countries with everything manufactured at our Kings Norton site.

The role

Our field service work level is continuously growing, and we require a Service Technician to help us fulfil the demand. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of our small but experienced Service team with a focus on commissioning, conducting preventative maintenance, servicing and repairing IWM equipment at customer sites across all of the UK. There is also potential great travel opportunities internationally.
Experience as a Service Tecnician, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer is essential as is someone that is prepared to learn from our experienced team.

Key duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Carrying out commissioning of new equipment
  • Repair, service and maintenance - planned and reactive
  • Perform fault finding tasks on both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Attend breakdowns to diagnose and repair
  • Conduct customer training
  • Providing detailed reports on work completed
  • Control of spare parts

Essential criteria:

  • A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points (endorsements)
  • An electrical background and understanding of electrical systems
  • Fault finding skills including diagnostic and testing
  • Mechanical skills in installation and repairs
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills with both colleagues and customers
  • Strong work ethic
  • Prepared to travel the UK
  • Prepared to stay away from home on occasions
  • Prepared to work outside of standard hours as required

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in Tig welding
  • Experience working with conveyors
  • Experience working with pumps and gearboxes

Our order book is continuously growing, and we require a TIG Welder Fabricator to help us fulfil the demand. The successful candidate will be required to work alongside our experienced production team with a focus on welding and fabricating high standard parts and assemblies for our machines.
Experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication (on thin gauge material) to a high standard is essential as is someone that is prepared to learn from our experienced team.

Key duties and responsibilities may include:

  • TIG welding parts and assemblies to a high standard
  • Fabricating parts
  • Design and manufacture of welding jigs
  • Providing production support to improve quality of products
  • Ensuring that manufacturing drawings and data is kept up to date

Essential criteria:

  • Experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in manufacturing machinery
  • Experience in fitting components to assemblies
